How Can I Create a Schema-Only Salesforce Backup?

To create a schema-only CopyStorm backup, you can:

  1. Start with an empty database.
  2. Set CopyStorm’s “Modified Since” parameter on the Advanced Tab to a date in the future.
    1. e.g. “1/1/2112”
  3. Press “Start Copy”.

This will cause CopyStorm to start a new backup, create tables in the database, and populate them with all table data created after the specified date — none if the date is in the future!

After the CopyStorm backup has completed, the backup database will contain an empty Salesforce schema that is compatible with CopyStorm/Restore.

If new tables or fields are added to the Salesforce instance, running CopyStorm again with the same configuration will update the database with the new or modified tables and fields.
