# Set Records to Skipped

The Set Records to Skipped tool directly sets the status of records to Skipped, causing CopyStorm/Restore to never attempt to restore the records. This is useful in a number of cases where records are identified in the candidate scan, but:

* It is known that the records will have problems if they are restored, but the record scanning results need to be kept.
* They are being held back from the current restore operation in preparation for being restored later.

The following screenshot shows available options on the Set Records to Skipped dialog:
