Add Support for Pluggable JDBC Authentication

Add Certificate Approval Feature

CopyStorm/Medic has been updated with a new feature to approve and use local network certificates for sites where local network traffic is being encrypted using a local custom certificate. Once custom certificates are accepted, CopyStorm/Medic will trust the accepted certificates for HTTPS network traffic.

A new XML configuration file may be used to add additional parameters to the Java runtime used to launch CopyStorm/Medic – this allows additional parameters (e.g. “-Xmx”) to be added outside of the CopyStorm/Medic launch script.

The Refresh Columns tool now supports selecting tables with zero selected columns. If zero columns are selected, the only columns that will be added are Stale Formulas.

CopyStorm/Medic has been updated to resolve a Windows-specific issue with SQL/Server integrated security connections in Java 17.

This release updates CopyStorm/Medic to use Salesforce API version 59.

New Tool: Delete Salesforce Records

This release introduces a new CopyStorm/Medic tool “Delete Salesforce Records”. This tool allows you to scan for and delete records from Salesforce to:

• Clear out Sandboxes.

• Archive data out of Production.

The “Delete Salesforce Records” tool is available in the “Other Tools” application menu, under Other Tools -> Rarely Used -> Delete Salesforce Records. This tool is included as part of CS:Archive by CapStorm. For more information please contact us – either by contacting CapStorm support or your account representative.

The Partition Editor has been updated to allow fields to be moved to partitions outside of the main CopyStorm database. With this update, CopyStorm field data can be moved to a local Folder or to S3.

With this feature, you are able to move large fields out of the database to minimize database storage use. For example, the following fields typically require the majority of database storage and could be moved to a less costly storage location:

• Attachment.Body

• ContentVersion.VersionData

• JDBC Partition Creation Bug Fix.

Minimum Java Version Change

Java version 17 or higher is required for CopyStorm/Medic version 10.64.3. A supported Java environment is included with each Windows installation, however, Linux or Mac users should verify installed Java version prior to upgrading.

The Fix IsDeleted tool has been updated to report on which IDs are identified for fixing.

This release includes multiple improvements to the Partition Creation process:

• When partition creation is cancelled, the cancelled partition is no longer included in the target partition drop-down when creating new partitions.

• When a S3 partition is created, the S3 credentials are now validated prior to locking fields for partition creation.

Resolved an issue preventing SQL errors from being reported in the Fix IsDeleted tool.

Resolved an issue preventing NULL Boolean column values from being refreshed by Refresh Columns and Refresh Formulas.

Important: Salesforce Username/Password Login Deprecated

Salesforce API version 65 deprecates the SOAP username/password login endpoint. Customers should migrate to an external client application configured with OAuth. Medic jobs using a login type that does not support API 65 will automatically fall back to API 64, and an exception will be logged at the start of each job as a reminder to migrate.

This exception can not be eliminated until OAuth authentication is used.

Salesforce API Version Fallback for Username/Password Logins

The "Fallback API Detected" error does not stop your jobs from running - it is informational, and indicates that CopyStorm/Medic is not able to use the most recent Salesforce API features. The error will be resolved when updating to JWT (or other OAuth) authentication.

The Delete Records tool now supports headless execution, enabling automated and scripted delete workflows without a user interface.

The Delete Records tool now supports XML-configured custom relationships, allowing delete operations to traverse non-standard object relationships.

The Delete Records tool now writes job activity to the database log, improving audibility and troubleshooting for delete operations.

Reduced memory consumption during Refresh Columns and Refresh Formulas operations.

Fixed an issue where invalid XML characters in partition data could cause read or write failures.

Improved the error message displayed when CopyStorm/Medic cannot locate the Customer Key.

This release introduces the CopyStorm/Medic Lineage Maintenance tool. The Lineage Maintenance tool identifies and resolves inconsistencies in CopyStorm/Restore Record Lineage, preventing issues that can arise from duplicate records being restored multiple times. These issues are addressed by updating lineage metadata and removing unnecessary lineage entries.

New Tool: Partition Editor

The “Partition Editor” tool has been added to CopyStorm/Medic. This tool enables vertical partitioning, separating CopyStorm Salesforce data tables into multiple database tables. Fields can be moved from the primary CopyStorm data table to secondary table(s) – or moved between secondary partitions.

This update introduces support for secondary data partitions in all CopyStorm/Medic tools.

The “Log Manager” CopyStorm/Medic tool has been updated to make it easier to identify problem CopyStorm and CopyStorm/Medic jobs – in-progress jobs do not have a color, successful jobs are green, and if a job has any Exceptions, then it is colored red.

This release updates CopyStorm/Medic to use Salesforce API version 62.

Release Highlights

This release focuses on customer requested features and bug fixes. Notable items include:

• API Threshold Option: CopyStorm/Medic will not use more than the specified percentage of API calls in a day.

• Partitioning Creation – Now incremental: This update simplifies the process to create partitions with pre-existing data, especially with large data sets.

This release introduces a new feature that provides additional control over Salesforce API call consumption. The setting allows you to set a percentage value that will prevent a CopyStorm/Medic job from starting if Salesforce Organization’s API utilization is above the provided percentage. For example, if the API Threshold is set to 80, CopyStorm/Medic will not run if the current Salesforce API use is >80% of the total allowed API calls.

The Partition Editor feature allows customers to shift the storage of field data out of the CopyStorm database and into an alternative storage location. The primary benefit is cost savings with a secondary advantage of controlling the size of the CopyStorm database. The addition of state tracking empowers customers with large data sets to implement partitions when a network connection to the database or the connection to Salesforce can not be expected to remain stable during the entire partition creation process. • Snowflake CSV Staging: Update

  • New option to add a Snowflake XML configuration in order to change the staging location of CSV uploads.

Support CopyStorm Optimized Deleted Record Scan Feature

CopyStorm 9.47.2 added a new feature which dramatically reduces the amount of time to find records to deleted in the CopyStorm backup. The CopyStorm/Medic FixIsDeleted feature needed a small update to support CopyStorm’s new feature.

Historically CopyStorm/Medic’s version number was unrelated to CopyStorm. In this release and in releases going forward, the latest releases of CopyStorm and CopyStorm/Medic will always share the same version number.
