The Search Results stage is used to view records in the CopyStorm database matching the search parameters.
Each row in the Search Results table provides information about a single field in a single record which was matched by one or more search terms. While a search is running this table will be updated as matching records are found. After the search is complete, match information can be exported to a file by clicking the Export to CSV button below the Search Results table.
To replace match text for selected matches in Salesforce, advance to the Replace stage.
To view more information about a specific match, right-click on the match row:
Options include:
Copy
Copies the selected cell contents to the clipboard.
Copy the Matching Lines
Copies an excerpt for each line matching the search term to the clipboard.
Open the record in Salesforce
Opens a web browser to the Salesforce page for the record matching the search term.
Show Details
Opens a dialog displaying all matched search terms in the field.
The Show Details dialog displays all matching search terms for this field:

The Replace stage is used to update Salesforce with replacement text for field values matching search terms. This stage will be unavailable until at least one match is selected in the Search Results stage.
To replace just the highlighted text matching a search pattern:
Update the “Replace [pattern] With [replacement text]” editor near the top of the screen.
Press the “Replace & Find Next Pending” button to update the field and advance to the next match selected in the “Search Results” stage.
Press the “Find Next Pending” button to leave the highlighted text in place and advance to the next match selected in the “Search Results” stage.
To undo any field changes prior to uploading data to Salesforce, press the “Restart Field Review” button.
If the field does not require any changes, press the “Skip Field” button to advance to the next field selected in the “Search Results” stage.
After making field changes, the field icons in the left-hand list will change to reflect current field status:
After making field changes, modified fields can be uploaded to Salesforce or exported in various formats:
The “Create Audit Report” button generates a HTML-formatted audit report containing all field matches, replacement text, and search metadata including:
The time at which the search was ran.
Database connection information.
Tables searched.
Pressing the “Apply Changes to Salesforce” button will cause CopyStorm/Search to update all modified fields in Salesforce to match the provided replacement text.
After the upload is complete a status window will appear displaying a summary of record changes:
Pressing the “Export the Modification Results to a File” button will generate an HTML-formatted report containing all uploaded field data, including:
Original field value.
Replacement field values.
Metadata included in the “Create Audit Report” export.
Patterns searched for.
Search parameters.
The “Create Salesforce Script” button generates a SQLForce script that, when ran, will upload the field changes to Salesforce.
The “Create Database Script” button generates a SQL script that, when ran, will upload the field changes to the CopyStorm database.

1.40.1 is the initial release of CopyStorm/Search.
CopyStorm/Search is designed to exhaustively search for and optionally replace data found in Salesforce. The search is more thorough and faster than a native Salesforce search, and many times faster. CopyStorm/Search can search all data in the CopyStorm backup database, including:
Salesforce tables.
Salesforce meta data.
Salesforce field history, including CopyStorm’s exhaustive field history tracking.
Once a search has been performed, CopyStorm/Search can update any or all matching records in both Salesforce and the CopyStorm backup.
Release Date: 30-Nov-2018
This is a feature, bug fix, and Salesforce API version upgrade release. As always, existing CopyStorm/Search configuration files are backwards compatible.
30-Nov-18
Original Release
With this update, concurrent search of 100s of tables can provide many 100s of millions of rows/values searched per hour.
This release brings CopyStorm/Search in sync with all other Capstorm products.
Upgrade to this version. There is no downside.
The Search stage is used to start the search and to view progress while a search is running. If a search has not been started this stage will contain a button to start the first search:
Once a search has started the page will display search status. Status for each table being searched is shown in the main portion of the dialog, with a summary of search statistics shown near the top of the dialog.
To stop a running search press the Cancel button near the bottom of the dialog.
After the search has completed the Search stage will display a summary of search statistics, including the total time to search each table and the total number of matched records.
The Discard Results and Restart the Search button will re-run the search using the current set of parameters — to re-run with different search terms, change the parameters in the Parameters or Tables stage and press the Discard Results and Restart the Search button.

The Start stage displays an overview of the Search & Replace process and describes each step of the process:

The Parameters stage is used to specify criteria used to search the CopyStorm database:
Selecting the “Show Advanced Options” checkbox will cause infrequently modified search parameters to appear. For more information, see the Advanced Parameters page.
Match Whole Words
If selected, search terms will only match whole words. For example, the search term “house” will:
Match “house” but not “household” if this option is selected.
Match both “house” and “household” if this option is not selected.
Included Deleted Records
If selected, records marked as deleted will be included in search results. If not selected, deleted records will not be included.
Enable Wildcards
If selected, the asterisk character (*) in search terms will be treated as a wildcard. Wildcards match zero or more of any character, for example the pattern “hous*old” will:
Match “The house is old” (the field contains several characters, followed by “hous”, followed by several characters, followed by “old”).
Match “household” (the field contains “hous”, followed by several characters, followed by “old”)
Not match “house” (the field does not contain “old”)

The Tables stage is used to select which Salesforce tables will be included in the search. All searchable fields in selected tables in this stage will be searched.
By default, commonly searched tables are visible. To view additional tables select the corresponding checkbox in the Table Groups selector on the left.
The default behavior of the table selector is to show table labels instead of the table API Name. To view API Names instead of labels, check the Show API Names checkbox to the right of the Filter input:
